Mom and dad enjoy going up to the Pedernales side of Lake Travis because they can get great water and they don’t have to fight a lot of other boat wakes. When mom and dad go up to the Pedernales they can watch people bare footing. The bare footers get on the lake when the sun comes up because they need smooth water to barefoot. Can you imagine skiing on your bare feet? I would think the water would tinkle your feet but I guess it doesn’t. This year mom and dad got to know the footers so every time the footers see mom and dad they would stop and visit.

On Saturday mom and dad went up to the Pedernales to water ski, wakeboard and air chair.  Mom and dad put the boat in the water about 8:00 a.m. Dad drove the boat down to the bridge to water ski, wake board and air chair. The bridge is where highway 71 crosses over the
Pedernales River. On the way to the bridge mom and dad talked to the barefooters. The footers told dad to be careful if he was going to go on the other side of bridge because it is getting shallow and there is a sand barge there. Mom and dad visit with the footers. After the footers left mom and dad did their watersports. When mom and dad finished they pulled the boat out and wiped it down before they came home to me.

On Father’s day mom and dad went back to the Pedernales to water ski, wakeboard and air chair. After mom and dad finished skiing, wakeboarding and air chairing they pulled the boat out to wipe it down. While they were wiping down the boat a barefoot boat pulled up next to them. Dad asked them why they were late getting out of the lake. One of the bare footers told him that they had finished bare footing earlier but wanted to let his grandchildren play in the lake. Mom and dad visit with them. Before mom and dad came home to me they took a few pictures of a family of ducks. I wish I was there because I like playing with ducks.

Saturday June 21, 2008

Saturday mom and dad pulled the boat up to Camp Pedernales. When mom and dad got to Camp Pedernales there were a few people camping at the campgrounds. A couple of the campers had boats. The campers with boats had to float the boats in the lake because the cove was too low for the boats. Mom and dad told me that the water was fantastic and you could ski anywhere on the lake. Dad decided to drive the boat towards the bridge to do their skiing, wakeboarding and air chairing. While they were doing their water activities mom took pictures. When they were finished all their watersports they floated and just enjoyed the great morning on the lake. Mom and dad went back to the boat ramp at Camp Pedernales when they finished floating.

Sunday June 22, 2008

Sunday when mom and dad went back to Camp Pedernales the lake was as smooth as the day before. Mom and dad decided to drive the boat the opposite direction. Dad drove the boat down to the Colorado River side of the lake. Dad drove to an area called the Island. The Island is an area located in Lago Vista Texas. On the way to the Island mom and dad would stop and do some skiing, wakeboarding and air chairing. When they got tired of doing watersports they would float and take pictures. They took pictures of deer grazing on the banks of Lake Travis. I wish I was there to see the deer. When mom and dad got close to the Island the lake was getting a little busier. There were people tubing, fishing and other watersports. When they arrived at the Island mom took pictures of people fishing under the Island’s waterfalls. Mom and dad told me they had a great time. I wish I was there but I was happy at home with my Kong.

Sunday June 29, 2008

On Sunday mom and dad decided to put the boat in at the Homeowner’s Park instead of at
Camp Pedernales. I like riding in the boat but I get bored so mom and dad left me at home with a Kong. I don’t mind this at all because that way I can watch the neighbors and see my friends. Mom and dad did a little air chairing and swimming. After they finished floating they drove the boat around Lake Travis and looked at the sites and gorgeous homes on the banks. As they were driving around they saw a pontoon boat with the University of Texas colors and cow horns painted on it. It looked so cool that mom and dad took pictures of it. When mom and dad finished looking at the sites it was time for lunch so they came home. When mom and dad returned to the house they told me that the lake wasn’t busy.
