It's going to be a gorgeous weekend so mom and dad decided to take me camping. I'm very excited about going camping. Mom had to work today so I waited for her to get home. Mom came home about 2:00 pm and I was waiting in the Minnie for her. When I saw mom drive up the driveway I jumped out of the Minnie and ran down the drive to greet her. I was happy to see her. She got out of the car and said hi to me. After she pet me for a little while we went inside the house so she could get ready to go camping. We were going to go to Pedernales Falls State Park for the weekend. Mom told dad that Emma Long Park was full because it was Spring Break. Dad was surprise so he decided to call Pedernales Falls State Park to see if there was any campsites available. Dad was disappointed because the park was full. When mom finished changing dad told her that Pedernales Falls State Park was full so they decided to go to Muleshoe Bend Park. I didn't care because I always have a great time at Muleshoe Bend Park. Mom finished packing the Minnie for the weekend. Now we were ready to go to Muleshoe Bend Park.

We arrived at Muleshoe at 3:30 pm. and checked in with Steve at the office. We didn't have to pay anything because we have a year pass. We drove to our favorite campsite but it was occupied so we drove down the road to another one. After setting up camp for the weekend we walked around the park for an hour. As we were walking around we noticed that there were a lot more campers this trip then last trip, we figured it was because of Spring Break. We also saw one boat driving down the lake.

Saturday March 13, 2010

We woke up about 7:00  and mom fed me my breakfast. Afterwards she sat down with dad and had breakfast. After breakfast we went for a hike for a couple of hours. As we were hiking the bike trail we saw a few bikes and when we were resting at the entrance of the park we saw the camp host spreading gravel on the side of his RV with his dog. Dad kept me on my leash because he didn't want me to disturb them. When we finished resting we headed back to the Minnie. When we were half back we stopped a couple of times to let the bikers go by. When we walked by the lake dad kept me on leash because there were too many people but that was ok because I still saw people and their dogs. A couple of the dogs did come up to me to say hi. We figured the lake was going to be busy because of it being Spring Break and a couple of the campsites had boats but it wasn't. The rest of the day we relaxed in our chairs.

Mom had to work today so dad and I waited for her to get home. When she got home she changed clothes and then we finished getting the Minnie ready. Its been two weeks since we been on a camping adventure so I'm very excited we going back to Muleshoe. We arrived at Muleshoe at 3:00 and drove to our favorite site but once again it was being occupied so we went to the site we stayed at last time. We set up camp for the weekend and than walked around the park. When we returned to the Minnie we sat in our chairs until it was time to have dinner. After dinner we went for another walk around the park.

Saturday March 27, 2010

We woke up about 7:30, mom fed me my breakfast and than sat down to have breakfast with dad. After breakfast we went on a hike, we hiked the bike trail for about 3 hours. We rested at the entrance and than we decided we were going to do something different on the way back to the Minnie. We decided to look for the Geo cash that was at Muleshoe. Dad had printed out the location of the Geo cash before we left home so he knew about where it was. We hiked the trail for awhile and than we had to get off the trail to look for the Geo cash. We walked through the trees, up and down hills, though a ravine and along the trail. We never did find it but we had a great time looking for it. Mom and dad figured that it was in this big barrel we saw but someone had taken it. I enjoyed looking for the Geo cash because we did a lot of exploring, we climbed hills we never climbed before and walked off the trail. On the way back dad kept me on leash because there were too many people camping, I didn't care because I was tired. When we got back we rested in our chairs until it was time for lunch.

After lunch we stayed around the campsite. As we were sitting in our chairs relaxing a couple of people rode their horses right by our campsite. This was very exciting but I was too tired to even bark. Our neighbors had a had couple of dogs and when the people rode their horses by their site they started to bark. I was so tired I just had fun watching all the activity going on around me. We did walk around the park a couple of times.

We didn't go camping this weekend because mom and dad had friends come over for dinner on Friday. It was a great dinner. Mom made gumbo and cheese burger pie. Today mom and dad decided to take me to Lakeway so we could go hiking at the Canyonlands Trails. We hiked the trails for about an hour. We didn't see anyone during our hike. I thought for sure I wasn't going to see any friends or meet a new friend but as we were finishing our hike I met a black lab who was hiking with 2 girls. Dad put me on leash because we were almost back to the truck put when I heard the girls I was very excited so I whined for them. Mom explained that I was whining for their dog and the girls said it was ok for me to say hi. Dad let me off leash and I ran to say hi to the girls and their dog. After I finished saying hi mom, dad and I went to the truck. The girls and their dog went on their hike. I had a great time at Canyonlands Trails.

Once again we didn't go camping this weekend. The reason we didn't go hiking was the weather turned bad. It rained yesterday and the North wind was blowing hard. The temperatures drop down to the 30's and my parents thought it would be too fun if we were camping. Today the sun came out but it was still windy and cold. Mom and dad decided to take me back to the Canyonlands Trails. This time we decided to hike the lower trails first and then the upper trails. We hiked for an hour. When we started our hike we saw a man finishing up his hike. We all said hi and than we went on our hike. We weren't that far down the trail when we saw 2 joggers. I was very excited maybe I will meet a lot of people during our hike. We hiked by the lake in the Canyonlands it was full. We had never seen it so full. It was beautiful. I didn't go swimming because I was too busy exploring and dad didn't want me to smell like wet dog. We hiked up and down the hills. During our hike we didn't see any more people and I didn't see any dogs. It was a great hike.
