This year May is warmer then normal so we’ve been spending time on Lake Travis. Mom and dad have been waterskiing, wakeboarding and air chairing. During the week dad puts our boat in the lake at the homeowners’ park. When he does this I usually go boating with mom and dad. I like going boating because after mom and dad are finished doing their water sports dad takes us to a cove so we can float. While in the cove we do some swimming. I swim more when I see ducks because I swim after them. I know I can’t catch them but I still like swimming after them. I swim until the ducks fly away and then I turn around and go back to mom and dad. Sometimes I swim far away before the ducks fly away and by the time I get back to mom and dad I’m tired so I have to rest. If the ducks come back while I’m resting I will go back into the lake to swim after them. This is a lot of fun. On the weekends mom and dad trailer the boat up to the Pedernales River to water ski, wakeboard and air chair because there are less boats up there and they don’t have to fight for good water.

Mom and dad pulled the boat up to the Camp Pedernales this morning to go waterskiing, wakeboarding and air chairing. When mom and dad go to the Pedernales they usually leave me at home. I don’t mind being left at home because mom makes me a great snack in a Kong. When mom and dad arrived at Camp Pedernales they saw a family of ducks by the boat ramp. Dad backed the boat into the water and mom drove the boat off the trailer. Dad parked the truck and walked towards the dock. On his way to the dock he took pictures of the ducks. The mother duck didn’t like dad taking pictures so she quaked at him. She thought dad was going to hurt her ducklings so she quacked at him the whole time he was taking pictures. After he finished taking pictures he went on the dock to get in the boat with mom. The air was a little cool when mom and dad first got on the lake so they just drove the boat around the lake to see the sites. While they were driving around they saw a few barefooters so they watched them barefoot. Mom and dad visit with the barefooters after they finished footing. After the footers left to go home mom and dad air chaired. When mom and dad finished chairing they drove back to Camp Pedernales to get ready to go home.

Memorial Day weekend mom and dad pulled the boat up to Camp Pedernales all three days. On Memorial Day after mom and dad finished doing their water sports they decided to float and swim for awhile. While mom and dad were floating they saw wild turkeys walking along the banks of the Pedernales River. On one side of the river they saw a couple of hens. Mom and dad watched the hens walking along the banks eating. While mom and dad were watching the hens they heard another turkey on the other side of the river. So they stopped watching the hens and looked for the other turkey. When they finally located the turkey mom and dad saw that the other turkey was a tom. The tom was walking along the bank calling for the other turkeys. Mom and dad followed the tom down the bank until they couldn’t see him any more. After the tom disappeared mom and dad decided to drive the boat back to Camp Pedernales to load it back on the trailer so they could come home to me.

Sunday May 18, 2008

Sunday morning Aunt Louise came out to the house so she could go skiing. She arrived at my house at 7:00 a.m. I was very happy to see her. While Aunt Louise and I said our hellos mom and dad got the boat ready to go back to Camp Pedernales. While they were on the Pedernales mom, dad and Aunt Louise did some waterskiing and wakeboarding. Mom and dad did some airchairing and Aunt Louise watched them because she doesn’t know how to ride the airchair. When mom, dad and Aunt Louise finished doing their water sports dad drove the boat to a cove where they swam for awhile. After their swim they went back to Camp Pedernales to get ready to return home to me.

I was happy to see mom, dad and Aunt Louise when they returned home. Aunt Louise decided to stay for lunch so mom put a picnic together. After mom finished getting the picnic together we went down to the park. Dad decided to barbequed sausages for everyone. While dad was barbequing mom and I went for a walk around the park. Mom and I walked down to the lake where I met a couple of girls. The girls were swimming so I decided to join them. After I swam I did some exploring along the bank of the lake and the park. I always like to explore around the lake because when I get hot I can go swimming. During our visit at the park we saw a helicopter. It flew over our heads and landed on a pad across the cove from our park. This was great to see the helicopter landing and taking off. Mom took pictures of the helicopter. When mom finished taking pictures we went back to dad and Aunt Louise to have lunch. After lunch mom, dad and Aunt Louise went swimming in the cove. I was really excited so I joined them. After our swim we went back home. Aunt Louise left shortly afterwards. I had a great afternoon because I always enjoy seeing Aunt Louise.

Monday May 26, 2008

After mom and dad came home from Camp Pedernales we went to the homeowner park for a picnic. Mom and dad had barbequed hamburgers for lunch. After mom and dad finished lunch I went swimming. While I was swimming mom and dad watched all the people on the lake. People were boating, swimming, tubing, skiing, wakeboarding and sailing. The lake was very busy but that didn’t stop me from going swimming. I had a great time swimming because I could swim over the waves. After I finished swimming we went home.
