Today we woke up at 6:15. Mom once again got up when dad did. I was so tired that I didn't even respond when dad took down my gate. He touched me to make sure I was still alive. When he touched me I raised my head and he was relieved I was alive. Mom and dad got dressed and then mom fed me my breakfast. Usually I'm waiting for my breakfast but today I must really be tired because I didn't get off my bed until mom put my bowl on the floor. After I finished breakfast mom and dad decided to go take a shower because their bites were itching. I went along with them but on the way to the bathroom it started to sprinkle so mom took me back to the Minnie. Then she joined dad. When they got back I was excited to see them and we said our hellos. Afterwards mom made oatmeal for dad and her breakfast. After breakfast mom and dad got the Minnie ready to move on. Our next camping adventure is Queen Wilhelmina State Park.

We have been in Arkansas a few times and dad always wanted to go to Queen Wilhelmina State Park but we weren't in the area so this time we're close so we decided to go there. On the way there we stopped at Wal-Mart to do a little shopping. Afterwards we went to Queen Wilhelmina State Park. The route we took was a scenic route but the weather hasn't been too good so mom didn't take any pictures. On the way up the mountain to Queen Wilhelmina the clouds blew in and dad had to drive through them. There were a couple of overlooks on the drive but you really couldn't see the scenery too well. Mom said maybe when we come down the mountain she will take pictures. When we got to the park the weather was so bad you couldn't see anything. We drove around the park and found a site. Afterwards we went to the office and checked in. While dad was checking in mom took me for a little walk so I could stretch my legs. When we were all checked we went to our site and setup the Minnie for a couple of nights. The weather was so bad we stayed inside the rest of the day. For lunch mom and dad had soup and mom gave me a little bit of my food for a snack. After lunch we relaxed. Mom worked out for an hour and forty-five minutes. After her workout she made dinner. Mom and dad had chili and I had my food. After dinner mom took me for a walk around the campground because I was cooped up in the Minnie all day. Dad stayed in the Minnie because the weather was getting worse. Mom and I were gone about 15 minutes because mom was getting cold. When we got back to dad we called it a night. The wind is blowing and it's misting so I think I'll say good night.

Friday May 3, 2013

We woke up above 6:00 this morning because the wind blew all night. When dad got out of bed he looked out the window and thought it had snowed last night because everything was white but it wasn't snow it was ice. Mom stayed in bed longer than dad because it was cold and we lost power. Dad fed me my breakfast and then he turned on the generator to heat up the Minnie and also he was afraid we would run out of propane. Once it started to warm up mom crawled out of bed. Mom made oatmeal for dad and her breakfast. During breakfast mom and dad had decided that we would move down off the mountain because the wind was still blowing which made it cold and the power was out. We waited an hour or so when dad realized that the power was back on so he turned off the generator and plugged in to power. Dad decided we would wait until after lunch if we were to leave so mom took me for a walk. We did a very short walk because it was cold and everything was iced over. I didn't mind at all but mom was cold. When we got back mom worked on her Sudoku and dad read and I slept. When it was time for lunch mom and dad had soup because they wanted something hot. Mom gave me a little bit of my food for a snack. After lunch mom and dad took me for a walk. Once again we weren't gone long because this time I wanted to go back because the wind was blowing me around. When we got back mom got the Minnie already to go and then we decided to stay because the roads were wet and the wind was blowing hard. So the rest of the day we stayed indoors to keep warm. Mom did take me for a couple more walks and she worked out for an hour and half. For dinner mom and dad had ham sandwiches and I had me food with a little ham. After dinner tried to get me to go for a walk but I didn't want to go because I was ready to call it a night. About midday the ice melted and the sun came out it turned out to be a beautiful day but it still was real cold because of the wind. We had a very relaxing day but it was fun.

Saturday May 4, 2013

Today we woke up at 6:45. The wind had died down and the sun was starting to come out. We slept very well because it was quiet without any wind. Dad crawled out of bed and got dressed. Then he fed me my breakfast. While I was eating mom crawled out of bed and got dressed. Then she made breakfast for dad and her. When everyone was fed we went on a walk around Queen Wilhelmina State Park. We walked down to the lodge. While we were walking to the lodge we walked by the office, the train station and a miniature golf course. The train is a small train that goes around the park but it wasn't running. The train station was under construction and so was the lodge. When we got to the lodge we walked to the overview and mom took a few pictures of the beautiful view of the mountains. Queen Wilhelmina does have some hiking trails but we didn't hike any of them because of the ice storm yesterday. After mom finished taking pictures we went back to the Minnie so mom and dad can get it ready to leave. Today we're leaving Arkansas and going to Oklahoma. We're going to McGee Creek State Park.

Queen Wilhelmina State Park is real close to the Oklahoma state line. We stopped at the Arkansas and Oklahoma border because there was a little history about it. In the 1800's when the U.S. Government took the Arkansas territory from the Indians they had mismarked where Oklahoma was by many acres. The Indians sued the government over the land that was suppose to be theirs. The Indians did prove to the government that they were wrong. The Indians didn't get the land but the government ended up paying the Indians for the land. After reading about the history we continued our adventure to McGee Creek State Park. The route we took to McGee Creek was a scenic route so we saw a lot of pretty scenery of the mountains and trees. The drive to McGee Creek was very relaxing.

We arrived at McGee Creek State Park at 11:30 and found a site to stay for the night. Here in Oklahoma the park hosts come by and collect the money so we didn't have to check in at the office. After setting the Minnie up for the night. Mom and dad have sandwiches for lunch. Mom gave me a little bit of my food for a snack. During our drive to Oklahoma the wind had picked up so it was too cold to sit outside so after lunch we stayed indoors. After a couple of hours we went on a walk around the park. McGee Creek is a very pretty park with a lake. Our site looks over the lake. As we were walking around we saw a very nice tent area that had concrete walkway to each site. When we got to the boat ramp there was a big walkway to the dock. The dock was great because they made the walkway and dock out of plastic planks. The lake was rough because of the wind but the parking area had a lot of boat trailers so it was being used. After our walk mom worked out for an hour and half. While dad and I watched people enjoying the park. They were riding their bikes, walking around, collecting wood for campfires and cutting up wood. When mom was finished working out she made dinner. Dad and mom had a baked potato for their dinner and I had my food. After dinner mom took me for a short walk because she was cold. When we got back we called it a night.

Today mom and dad woke up early but didn't get out of bed until 6:45. Mom got out of bed at the same time as dad did. While dad was getting dressed mom took down my gate so I could say hi to dad and her. Afterwards mom fed me my breakfast and then she made oatmeal for dad and her breakfast. After breakfast we walked around the campground. When we got back to the Minnie mom and dad got it ready to leave. We had a wonderful time at McGee Creek State Park. Our next camping adventure is Burns Run Corp Park.

On the way to Burns Run Park we stopped at a casino so mom could do a little gambling. She still had $3.00 left from her previous gambling adventures. Mom and dad were in the casino for three hours and mom only lost $.50. When mom and dad got back to me I was excited to see them and I let know about it. After we said out hellos mom took me for a walk. When we got back it was lunchtime so mom and dad made salami sandwiches for their lunch. Mom gave me a little bit of my food for my lunch. After lunch we went to Lowe's so dad could check his e-mail and mom could update my website. When mom and dad finished using the Internet we went to Lake Texoma. The lake got it's name because one side of the lake is in Oklahoma and the other side is in Texas. Burns Run East is in Oklahoma and Burns Run West is in Texas. We were going to stay in Texas but decided to stay in Oklahoma because the park had showers. After dad checked in at the gate we went to our site and setup the Minnie for the night. During our stay we walked around the campground a few times. It was windy so the lake was rough but there still were fishermen on the lake. Mom worked out for an hour. When she finished her workout it was time for dinner so mom made hot dogs for dad and her dinner and she fed me my food for my dinner. We had a very relaxing day and now it's time to say good night.

Today we woke up at 6:30. Mom and dad both got up at the same time and got dressed. Dad fed me my breakfast while mom straightened up the Minnie. After mom finished she made oatmeal for dad and her breakfast. When breakfast was finished we walked around the campground. When we got back mom and dad broke camp. We're starting our adventure back home. We won't be home for a few days because we're going to stop at a couple of Corps of Engineer Parks in Texas. The first park is Kimball Bend, which is located on the Brazos River. The second park is Cedar Ridge, which is located on Lake Belton.

On the way to Kimball Bend we stopped at Camping World. We needed a couple of things for the Minnie and it was on the way to the park. After mom and dad finished shopping we continued our adventure to Kimball Bend Park. We arrived at Kimball Bend Park at 11:30. Dad stopped at the park gate and got a map of the campground. Then we drove around and found a site. Once we found a site we went back to the gate and paid for a night. While dad was paying mom took me for a little walk. After dad paid we went back to our site and setup the Minnie for the night. When we finished doing this we had lunch. Mom and dad had ham sandwiches and mom gave me a little bit of my food for a snack. After lunch we went for a walk around the campground and down to the boat ramp. When we were at the gate there was a note that said the river was 9 feet lower than normal so when we got to the ramp it wasn't a shock to see the river low. Dad was also told that the ramp would be out of the water if the river went down another foot. While at the ramp dad let me go swimming. I was so happy that I didn't even hesitate about going in the river. It felt so good to be able to go swimming. After I finished swimming we went back to our site. We relaxed in our chairs until the bugs chased us inside. Dad and I went inside and mom stayed outside to do her workout. She worked out for an hour and 15 minutes. When she finished working out it was time for dinner. Mom made hot dogs for dad and her dinner. Mom fed me my food for my dinner. After dinner we went for another walk around the campground. When we finished our walk we went back to our chairs and enjoyed the view we had of the Brazos River. After awhile mom and dad bagged our chairs and then we called it a night. We had a super day now it's time to say good night.

Today I woke mom and dad up at 6:15. I was grooming and I made so much noise dad decided to crawl out of bed. Dad got dressed and fed me my breakfast and then mom crawled out of bed. Mom got dressed and then she made oatmeal for dad and her breakfast. After breakfast we walked around the campground. When we got back to the Minnie mom and dad got it ready to move on. Our next camping adventure is Cedar Ridge Campground on Lake Belton.

On the way to Cedar Ridge we drove by Lake Whitney. Dad has been trying to figure out what we're going to do this summer because Lake Travis is very low and the ramps are out of the water so mom and dad won't be able to use it. So he decided that he would check out a few U.S. Corps of Engineers lakes in the area. Lake Whitney is one of them but it doesn't look too promising because it's 9 feet lower than normal and its ramps are almost out of the water. We have never driven by Lake Whitney so this was very exciting. Even though Lake Whitney was low it still was a big beautiful lake. After driving by Lake Whitney we went to Cedar Ridge. We arrived at Cedar Ridge at 10:00. Dad stopped at the gate and got a map of the campground of the sites. We had no problem finding a site for the night. The campsites look over Lake Belton and are very nice. We choose a site that had trees because it's going to be in the 80's. After choosing a site we went back to the gate and paid for the night. When we got back to our site we setup the Minnie for the night. Afterwards we went for a walk around the campground and checked out the lake. Lake Belton is another U.S. Corp of Engineer Lake. Mom and dad have boated on Lake Belton many times so they know the lake very well. But right now Lake Belton is 9 feet lower than normal and it doesn't look promising either. So far it looks like mom and dad aren't going to do too much boating this year. After our walk we went back to our site and enjoyed the view of the lake. When lunchtime came around dad barbecued a couple of pork steaks. This time he used charcoal instead of propane. I was happy because it means that I will have bones to eat. Mom and dad had pork wraps for their lunch and mom gave me a little bit of my food for a snack. When one of the bones cooled off mom gave it to me. Mom is way too good to me. After we finished our lunch mom and dad went on an hour and 15 minute walk around the park. They left me at the Minnie because I was too tired and I would have to be on leash the whole time. They walked to the screened shelters, marina, the other RV loop and the group camping areas. As they walked around they saw a few deer and said hi to some people. By the time they got back they were hot and tired but they weren't too tired to say hi to me. Afterwards we went to our chairs and relaxed. Mom rested a little and then she took me to the lake so I could go for a swim. After my swim we went back to our site. Dad read, I sunned and mom started her workout. It started to get hot so dad and I went inside. Dad turned our on the air conditioner because it was hotter in the Minnie. Mom workout of 30 minutes and then she came inside to do the other 30 minutes of her workout. When mom finished her workout she did some Sudoku. When dinnertime came around mom cooked up some bowtie noodle and spaghetti sauce for dad and her dinner. Mom fed me my food for my dinner. After dinner we stand inside and kept cool. About 7:00 dad went to take a shower so mom and I walked with him. When we got back to our site we sat in our chairs for about an hour. Then we bagged our chairs and called it a night. We had a great day at Cedar Ridge.

Happy Mother's Day mom. I'm very excited because Aunt Louise and Cousin Autumn came to my house for lunch. Before they came out mom put a little relish tray together. It had bread and butter pickles, sweet pickles, Colby Jack cheese and ham. Mom also made deviled eggs. Aunt Louise and Cousin Autumn arrived at 10 and it was too early for lunch so everyone munched on the relish tray and eggs. When lunchtime came around mom barbecued bacon outside because she didn't want to smell up the house. While she was barbecuing the bacon Autumn and I kept her company outside. Aunt Louise and dad stayed inside and talked. When we were cooking the bacon our neighbor's dog (Sadie) came over to visit. When Sadie came over Autumn decided to go inside with dad and Aunt Louise. Sadie decided to join her but dad put Sadie outside because she was stressing out Autumn. When the bacon was finished mom and I went inside and left Sadie outside. Mom took Sadie home and visited with Trooper (the neighbor's other dog). When mom came back we all sat down and had lunch. Mom and dad had bacon wraps and Aunt Louise had bacon sandwiches. Mom gave Autumn and me a little bacon. Along with the bacon mom, dad and Aunt Louise had potato salad. Mom kept to her diet and didn't eat too much. After lunch dad called his mom so Aunt Louise and he could wish her a Happy Mother's Day. After talking with Grandma, Aunt Louise and Cousin Autumn went home. Mom and Aunt Louise had a great Mother's Day.

Dad has been thinking about putting in a sprinkler system because we travel so much and our yard doesn't get watered. If we're home dad goes out and water the yard. So before we left on our Spring Trip dad had talked to Tropical Irrigation about putting in a sprinkler system. He got a quote on a irrigation system and decided to get it done but he told the sales man (Shannon) that we would give him a call when we got back. So today Tropical Irrigation came out and put a system in. While the crew was working on the new system we watched them. It was very interesting. The crew was a five men crew. They hand dug the trenches except for the main trench that went from the house to the street, which was done by machine. When they wired the system to the controller they had to trench under the driveway. They used a cool machine. While they were using the machine it broke so they had to call Shannon to look at it and get the part they needed. But this didn't slow them down the crew continued to install the system. Once Shannon arrived he found the problem. Thanks to dad and his tools they were able to fix the machine. It didn't take the machine too long to drill the trench. We were amazed that the crew was able to install and set up the system in one day. The crew was awesome. While they worked hard I sunned and mom took pictures. We had a great time watching the crew. Thanks Tropical Irrigation for your hard work now we don't have to worry about watering our yard.

Today was a beautiful the sun was shining and it's not too hot so dad decided that he wanted to go down to the Homeowners' Park to have a barbecue. Mom and dad put a cooler together and then we went down to the park. I was excited because I haven't been to the park for awhile. When we got to the park it was too windy to barbecue but we still stayed. Mom and dad stayed up on the hill at a picnic table while I went down to the lake. I walked around the park for about 45 minutes and then came back to mom and dad. When dad goes down to the park I thats me do my thing, which is exploring, walking on the dock and swimming. While I did my thing mom took pictures and kept dad company. While we were at the park we saw a lot of people enjoying the lake on the party boats and just boating. We had a super time at the park even though we couldn't barbecue.

Monday May 27, 2013

Aunt Louise and dad talk at least once a week and the last time they talked Aunt Louise told dad that she was having troubles starting our lawnmower. So today dad decided to go over to house to look at it because it was her day off. Mom and dad decided that I could go with them. I was very happy about going because I could visit with my cousin, Autumn. While we were at Aunt Louise's house dad fixed her lawnmower, fixed her light on her garage door opener and set up a sprinkler system for her. Dad fixed Aunt Louise's lawnmower by cleaning the spark plug and spraying some starting fluid in it. Once he added the starting fluid the lawnmower started up. Aunt Louise was having problems her garage door opener light because it wouldn't stay on. Dad cleaned the the contacts and then the light started to work. We had a new irrigation system put in earlier this month so dad decided that he would give Aunt Louise the sprinklers he had been using. Aunt Louise was very surprise because we didn't tell her that we had an irrigation system. Dad set up the sprinklers in Aunt Louise's front and back yard and then explained how it worked. After dad had the sprinklers set up Aunt Louise was very happy because it will make it a lot easier for her to water her yards. Dad is such a good brother because he helps Aunt Louise out when he can. While dad was doing these projects mom, Autumn, Aunt Louise and I hung out outside with him. When Autumn and I were exploring in the backyard the neighbor's dog came to his fence to say hi. I had a fun time visiting with Cousin Autumn and Aunt Louise.

Today was my lucky day!!! Mom took me to the homeowners' park. Mom hasn't taken me to the park for a long time so today she asked if I wanted to go for a swim. Are you kidding of course I do. We went to the park about 11:30 after we had lunch. We went early because it's suppose to be raining in later on today. We didn't walk to the park because mom decided that she would stop at the dumpster. When we got to the dumpster mom let me out of the truck so I could do some exploring. While mom was putting the trash in the dumpster it started to sprinkle so she put me in back in the truck. She told me we may have to go back to the house but it stopped so we stayed. We walked around the park for 45 minutes. Our walk was very quiet because we were the only ones at the park. We didn't even see anyone on the lake. As we walked I swam and explored. We were on the way back to the truck when it started to rain a little harder so I ran back to the truck. I don't like to get my head wet unless it's my idea. When we got to the truck mom dried me off a little before putting me in the truck. When we got back to the house the rain stopped and mom finished drying me. Afterwards she wiped down the truck. I had a great time at the park and now I'm pooped out.
