I've been excited all day mom and dad are taking me to Muleshoe Bend Park for the weekend. Mom had to work and I had to wait for her to come home. When she finally came home I ran down the driveway to greet her. After she changed her clothes she finished getting the Minnie ready for the adventure. We arrived at Muleshoe 3:30 pm dad didn't have to stop at the entrance because the last time we were here he bought a year pass but he did just to welcome the new park hostess. After he welcomed the lady we went to our campsite. Once mom and dad setup camp for the weekend we went for a walk around the park. The last time we were here one of the bathrooms was down but today the bathroom is open. This great because mom and dad didn't have far to walk to use it. Once mom and dad setup camp for the weekend we went for a walk around the park. We walked by Lake Travis we didn't walk to close because mom and dad didn't want me to go swim. While mom and dad were talking I couldn't help myself, I wanted to go for a swim so I ran down to the lake. Dad tried to call me back but it was too late. Once I was swimming mom and dad was ok with it. After I finished my swim I went back to mom and dad and we finished our walk. As we were walking along the lake we noticed that the lake was higher then our last visit. When we got back to the campsite mom had to dry me off and than we sat in our chairs. While we were sitting in our chairs we met the other camp host and their dog. He was full of energy and we both ran around playing with each other while mom and dad visit with his dad. I had a great time. After they left dad barbecued hamburgers for dinner.

I woke mom and dad up at 7:00 am. Mom fed me my breakfast and than sat down to have breakfast with dad. After breakfast we went for 7 mile hike. When we were hiking to get to the bike trail I saw deer so I chased them into the trees. After I finished I ran back to mom and dad. We changed our hike a little instead of going to the entrance of the park we decided to hike along the fence line. As we were hiking down the hill by the fence we met a black dog. He was walking with two boys, when he saw us he ran up the hill to say hi and the boys called him back but he was too excited to go back. I was happy to see him when the boys got to us they said they were sorry. Mom and dad said they didn't care because I like other dogs. After the boys and the dog left we hiked to the lake so I could go for a swim. While I was swimming mom and dad sat on the bank and rested. After they rested we walked along the bank towards our campsite. As we walked along the lake we saw more campers. The campsite next to our had a couple of dogs I wanted to play but their masters told us that they weren't always nice. That was ok because I was tried. When we got back to our campsite we went to our chairs to rest before lunch.

After lunch we went for a walk by the lake. As we were walking we saw a couple of ladies riding their horses I was very excited to see them so I ran towards them right before I got to them the ladies stopped and the horses looked right at me so I stopped. Mom and dad said they were sorry and the ladies said it was ok because they were used to dogs. After the horses left I saw three dogs running to the lake for a swim and I wanted to go with them but mom and dad said no. We walked a little while longer and than turned around and went back to the campsite. As we walked around the park we saw a lot more people and dogs this week than we saw our last visit. We had a great walk. Once we got back to the campsite we decided just to hung around the site for the rest of the day. As we were sitting in our chairs we watched our neighbors play Frisbee and unlock their car. The hosts came driving by with their dog and stopped at our site to visit for awhile. But today I didn't play with their dog because he was on a leash. We had a great afternoon just relaxing.

I woke mom and dad up about 7:00 am. After breakfast we went for a walk around the park we didn't go too far because it was very humid. We walked for about a half hour. After our walk we broke camp and went home before the rain came. We had a great time at Muleshoe Bend Park.

Thursday November 26, 2009

Today is Thanksgiving and Aunt Louise had to work so were not going to celebrate Thanksgiving until Sunday. Mom and dad didn't want to stay around the house all day so they took me on a hike. Our hike was at the Hamilton Greenbelt Trails. We have been here many times and we always have a great time. We hiked the primitive trails for an hour. During our hike I met two new friends. My two new friends were jogging with their mom. We met three different times along the trail and each time we played. The first time I met my friends was great. They were ahead of their mom so it gave us time to run after each other. When their mom showed up I ran down the trail with her and my friends. Mom and dad called me back to them so they could finish their jog. The second time I saw them we were run back from the lake. When we saw each other we said hi again. The third time we saw each other they were coming down a hill as we were going up the hill. Mom and dad stopped and visit with their mom while all three of us played. After my new friends left we continued our hike. We were almost finished with our hike when I saw an old friend of mine Foster. He was hiking with his dad. We met last year and it was great to see each other again. Foster and I played while his dad and my parents visit. After Foster and I finished playing my parents and I finished our hike. I had a fantastic time playing with my new friends and Foster. I'm ready to go home now because I am exhausted.

Saturday November 28, 2009

Today mom and dad took me back to Lakeway to go on a hike. This time we hiked at the Canyonlands Trails. We've been here also many times before so I've talked about the trails before. We hiked the upper trails for an hour. We had a great time. While we were hiking the trail I met a new friend. He was a big beautiful black dog. He was hiking with his parents and a couple of other people. He was eighteen months old and full of energy so his dad put him on leash. Mom and dad told them that I was friendly and it was ok if they let him of leash. The trail was narrow where we were and his dad thought it would be better if he was on leash that way no one would get hurt. We had met the dog's parents before so we all said hi. My new friend and I said hi also. After we all said hi mom and dad took me up a small hill so my new friend and his group could continue their hike. When we were also finished with our hike I met a couple more dogs. They were walking with their family. They were both on leash but it didn't stop them from saying hi to me. After we all finished saying hi mom and dad took me to the truck so we could go home. I was so tired by the time I got back to the truck I could hardly get back into the truck. When I finally got in I laid down on the sit and put my head on mom's lap and went to sleep. I had a great time.

Today Aunt Louise came out to celebrated Thanksgiving. Mom cooked a big dinner. There was a turkey, dressing, mash potatoes and gravy, relish tray, celery and devil's eggs. Aunt Louise brought a pecan pie. Aunt Louise stayed and visit for a few hours. We everyone had a great time. Mom did an outstanding job with the dinner. Mom also gave me a little turkey for a snack. When Aunt Louise was leaving my neighbor came over to say hi. This was the first time she came over. She is a six month old yellow lab. She wasn't sure about me first but she really liked dad. Once she warmed up to dad she relaxed a little bit with me. Her mom came over to take her back home. She lives with a beagle and I have played with her before. This was a great day I met a new friend and I ate a lot.
