I can't believe it, we've camping for four weeks now. We woke up at 6:45 and had a little breakfast. It rained all night and it finally stopped so mom and dad took me for my morning walk. As we were walking we heard the big C moving around so dad decided to go help the couple again. He wanted to make sure that they got out of the park ok. It was easier today because it wasn't dark. They thanked us again and the lady told us they were going to Florida for the Winter. They're from Washington and it gets cold there in the winter. After they were safely out of the park we continued our walk. As we continued our walk we said hi to a group of college age people. They had come in late last night and they apologized for bring the rain. Everyone laughed because we knew they didn't bring the rain. The group was already packed up and ready to go. When we returned to the Minnie, dad decided that we were going to move on even through it's sprinkling. Mom had told dad yesterday that the water was a little brown so dad drained the water out of the tank, while mom straightened up the Minnie. After mom and dad were ready, we went to the office so dad could fill up the tank with fresh water. When dad was finished we started our adventure to Maine. The weather was bad the whole day so mom didn't take any pictures. We stopped at a McDonald's in Farmington, Maine so dad could check his e-mail and mom could update my website. Mom took me for a walk before they went inside the McDonald's because I didn't want to wait. It wasn't a long walk so dad didn't have to wait too long. While they were in McDonald's they had lunch. When came back we continued down the road. As we were driving we saw a beautiful river and when we cross over a bridge going to Mexico, Maine we saw a fanatic view of big waterfalls in the river. We saw a little bit of Fall colors in the trees but it's still a little early. About 1:30 dad was going to stop for the night because he was tired of the rain but about 40 miles from Bangor the rain let up so dad decided to go on. We found a Wal-Mart right outside of Bangor and decided to call it a day. When dinnertime came around mom heated up some chili for dad and her dinner. She fed me my food. After dinner mom and dad took me for a walk and then they went to Wal-Mart to pick up a few things. When they returned we called it a night.

Sunday October 2, 2011

We woke up at 6:45. I was still a little sleepy but I got up with mom and dad. Mom fed me my food and put things away in the Minnie, while dad check out things out of the Minnie. After mom and dad were finished with their shores we went for a walk around the parking lot. There was a Dunkin Donuts store across the main road so dad crossed the street to get some donuts, while I took care of business. I saw dad crossing the street so I finished my business fast and decided to go after dad. Mom had to slow me down because there was a car coming but as soon as the car went by we crossed the street to find dad. Dad was paying for the donuts. When he came out of the store and we crossed the street together. When we got back across the street I finished my business and then we went back to the Minnie. Then mom and dad went to Wal-Mart because dad needed some washers for the Minnie. When they got back dad put the washers on the Minnie and then we headed towards Acadia National Park. It was raining on and off so mom decided she wouldn't take any pictures today. When we got to the island where Acadia National Park was our GPS took us on a different route then other people usually take to get to the park. We made it to Bar Harbor but dad was confused and didn't know which way to go so he parked the Minnie by the harbor. He looked at the map and tried to determine his route. While dad was looking at the map, Mom, dad and I looked at the harbor. Today the harbor looked a little rough but we still thought it was very nice. We saw a big curse ship in port and we wondered how it got there because the port was pretty small. After dad decided which route to take we drove through Bar Harbor. Bar Harbor is a small town for the tourist to walk through to shop, eat, sleep and take tours. After go through Bar Harbor we got a little lost so we pulled into a laboratory's parking lot to look at the map again. As we were looking at the map we saw a few deer grazing on the grass. Dad reread the map and decided to drive towards another small town called Otter Creek. On the way to Otter Creek we saw a sign about a loop so we took that road, which got us to an entrance to Acadia National Park. Dad took the man at booth that we're lost and the man told dad that you can't get lost because the island is only 10 miles by 10 miles. Dad paid the entrance fee and the man gave him a map of the park. He also told dad the only campground open was Blackwoods Campground. He told us that was as far as dad could go in the Minnie. Dad thank him and we were on our way down the loop. The loop is a one way street with two lanes and if you wanted to stop along the loop you can park in the right lane, which we thought was weird. We found the campground and then we checked in. The site that we were assigned was great because it was very leveled. We set up camp for the night because we weren't sure how long we wanted to stay here. After we were set up we went for a walk around the campground to a path that went to the ocean. As we were looking at the ocean one of the park rangers came by and we visit with him for awhile. He liked me and gave me some attention. He had been born and raised here so he knew a lot about Maine. After awhile we got up to walk back to the campground and he walked with us. When we got to the street we went to our site and he continued walking down the road to another overview of the ocean. When we got back mom fixed dad and her some soup and sandwiches for lunch and she gave me a couple of chicken bones. After lunch mom and dad went for a little walk and left me in the Minnie. They wanted to find another trail and walk farther down the road to other overviews. I would be too slow because I had to be on leash and the road was the loop road so it was too busy. As they were walking around they found the trail and walked a little of it. They decided that the trail would be very difficult to hike because it had too many big rocks and tree roots. When they returned to the campground road they met a man. He had been coming here for the last 11 years. Mom and dad talked with the man for a long time. They continued talking with the man as they walked to the ocean. Once at the ocean the conversation didn't finished. They talked with him for about an hour and then they decided to walk down the road to another overlook. The man decided to stay and look for the fishing boats. Mom and dad walked down to the next overlook, which wasn't that far. At the beginning of their walk the park ranger we met earlier told them that there were some birds drying their wings so right before they got to the next overlook they saw the birds on the rock drying their wings. Once at the overlook they noticed that the ocean was getting rougher and they watched the ocean for little while and started back to the campground. On the way back they were going towards the entrance to pay for a few more nights when they saw the man they walked with and visit once again this time it wasn't too long. After paying for another four nights they came back to me. We said our hellos and then mom and dad sat down to rest. Shortly after they sat down it started to rain mom and dad had made it back just in time. About 4:45 mom decided she was going to make chicken enchiladas for dinner so she started her preparation. While she was preparing dinner she gave me a little cheese and chicken. When she finished the rain had stopped so we went for a walk. We walked around the B Loop because it was closed. We walked for about a half hour. In order to get to the B Loop we had to walk by the amphitheater. The amphitheater was the biggest and the nicest one we had ever since. It had benches made of wood and the stage was big deck made of wood. It was gorgeous. As we walked the B Loop we saw a few tenters and a big group of tenters. It was a very nice walk. I was glad to get out of the Minnie and stretch my legs. When we got back mom heated up the oven so she could cook the enchiladas and then she fed me my food. After mom and dad ate dinner we called it a night.

Monday October 3, 2011

Today we woke up at 6:30. It rained all night long but everyone still had a great night sleep, now the rain stopped. We all got out of bed and had breakfast. After breakfast mom and dad took me for a walk around the campground and down to the ocean. It was a little foggy and overcast so you didn't see but the ocean was a little calmer. We stood there looking over the bay for a little while and then we went back to the Minnie. Mom straightened up the Minnie because today we're going site seeing on the other side of the island. After mom finished we started our adventure. Dad drove to Northeast Harbor by accident but it turn out to be a good thing. Mom and dad saw some fishing boats going out and a lot of gorgeous boats in the harbor. They also got a chance to see a fishing boat come in and overload their lobsters. Mom and dad said it was cool to watch because it was different than the show the Deadliest Catch. The lobster boat was a lot smaller and had a three men crew and the pods were smaller. When they came into port the lobsters were in a crate and one crew member hook two crates to a wretch, another crew member wretched the crates to the third crew member on the dock. The third crew member and a truck driver loaded the pods into a truck. This went very fast and accurately. While they were watching the overload of the lobster they saw a barge come in with a cement truck and they watched it come in and unload the truck and reload the barge with more construction trucks. I guess they're working on one of the islands and this is the only way they could get the trucks there. Mom and dad were gone for about an hour and had a great time watching all the activities that were going on. When they got back we continued our adventure around the island. The next stop was to see the Bass Harbor Lighthouse. This lighthouse is still being used. Mom and dad worked down a cool staircase to see the lighthouse. The staircase was neater than the lighthouse. After they finished taking picture they came back to me. Mom took me for a walk and dad walked around and found that there was another path to the lighthouse. This path took you right to the lighthouse. So mom put me back in the Minnie and then walked to lighthouse, where she took pictures. After mom and dad finished looking at the lighthouse we left Bass Harbor and decided to go to the Visitor Center. On the way to the Visitor Center we had to cross through a couple of flooded streets. There was water going over the street but it wasn't too deep dad just drove very slow and got through it. We found the Visitor Center today we tried to find it yesterday and couldn't. The reason was we were coming in the opposite way and there wasn't a sign that told you to turn and today there was a sign. We had to drive under a gorgeous bridge. When we got to the Visitor Center mom and dad went inside to buy post cards and while they were there they watched a fifteen minute movie on Acadia National Park. Mom and dad had to climb up 52 steps to get to the Visitor Center. Mom counted each step and there actually were 52 steps. When they got back mom made sandwiches for lunch and gave me a chicken bone. After lunch we had back to the campground but before we got to the campground we stopped so mom and dad could take a shower. When they finished taking a shower we went back to our site. It was a very nice day we sat inside for a few minutes and then mom and dad took me for a walk to the ocean again. The sun was out so mom took a few pictures of the ocean with the sun shining on it. We saw a few fishing boats in the ocean and we watched the waves hit the rocks for awhile. It was very relaxing we sat on the rocks for a little while and then went back. Dad got out the grill and mom brown up some hamburger meat and put taco season in it. She didn't want to smell up the Minnie with taco meat so she didn't on the grill. While she was doing that dad read his book and I laid down watching everyone around us. After she finished cooking the meat we stayed outside dad read, mom did some word searching and I slept. The man that mom and dad met yesterday and walked with to the ocean came by. He liked dogs so he liked me and paid attention to me. Mom and dad visited with him for awhile. He wanted to take me for a walk but I didn't want to leave dad. He said good-bye and then mom and dad took me for a walk around the B campground. This time we walked through more of the loops and it took us a little longer to get back. Once we were back mom heated up the leftover enchiladas and made a couple of burritos for dinner and she fed me my food. After dinner we decided to call it a night because we were tired.

Tuesday October 4, 2011

We woke up at 6:45 and mom stayed in bed an extra 15 minutes because it was raining and we weren't going anywhere. It rained all day so we stayed in the Minnie. Dad read, mom worked on her book and I slept. Mom and dad had to wake me up at 11:30 to take me out of a walk because I didn't go out earlier because of the rain. I really didn't want to go out than because it still was raining but mom and dad knew I had to go out and take care of business. We were going to walk around the campground but the rain started to come down harder so went back to the Minnie. We stayed in the Minnie the rest of the day because the rain stayed around all day. The rain is suppose to go away tomorrow so we'll be able to do something. Bye now I'll write tomorrow. LIFE IS GOOD!!!!!!!!!!

Wednesday October 5, 2011

We woke up at 6:30 the rain had stopped and we were ready to start a beautiful. Mom and dad rolled out of bed and I was waiting for them. Mom fed me my breakfast and then sat down with dad and had breakfast. After breakfast mom and dad took me for a walk around the campground. We walked down to the ocean. As we were looking at the ocean a man showed up to take pictures of the ocean. Mom and dad visit with him for a little while and then we headed back to our site. We had just crossed the loop when I met a couple of dogs their master said they were very friendly so we all checked each other out. When we got back to the Minnie we went inside because it was a little cold today. The temperature was 48 degrees. Mom and dad are taking a bus ride today and the bus didn't come to the campground until 9:50 so they had about an hour to kill. When they went on their bus ride they left me in the Minnie, I was ok with that because I can sleep while their gone. The bus took mom and dad to Bar Harbor, where they could catch other buses that go to other places on the island. Mom and dad got off the bus in town and walked around the town for about an hour. As they walked around mom took pictures of the bay and the town. Today only one cruise ship was in port so it wasn't too busy in town. Mom and dad watched a little boat go to the cruise ship to get people and bring them to town so they can shop. There was a very nice cemetery that was established before the 1790 and right behind it was a beautiful old church.
After around town they got back to the center of town just in time to catch the number three bus that took them to the Sand Beach. They got off the bus, walked on the beach, took pictures and then they walked the ocean path to Thunder Hole. As they walked the path for .7 mile mom took pictures. Thunder Hole got its named because when the waves from the ocean hit the rocks at the right time it makes a loud sound like thunder. Mom and dad waited for the bus to come. While they were waiting they saw a beautiful yellow lab tied to a post waiting for her parents. They told me that she was bigger than me but she liked the sun just like I do. When the bus got there, they got on it. The bus driver was very friendly, he talked about everything that Acadia National Park has to offer. When they got back to our campground they thanked him and came home to me. I was happy to see them even though they were only gone for a couple of hours. Mom made ham sandwiches for lunch and she gave me a little snack. After lunch we went for a walk. We walked around the B Loop because it was closed. On the way back we stopped at the Amphitheater and sat on a bench. Mom and dad want to sit there for awhile because they wanted to enjoy the sun. After a little while we went back to our campsite. We were going to sit outside but the wind came up so it was getting cold. Mom and dad went inside and left me outside. I wasn't outside alone too long because I don't like to be alone even though I could see my parents so I went to the door and whined. Dad came to the door and let me in. We stayed inside most of the afternoon. Mom worked on her word search book and dad wiped the moister off the windows. Mom was getting cold and bored so we went on another walk. This time we went back to the ocean but we took a little longer route to the ocean. Once at the ocean we walked on some rocks so we could sit on them to get some sun and enjoy the ocean. The sun kept going behind a cloud so the sun didn't last too long. When sun went away we went back to the Minnie. When dinnertime came around mom was going to cook up some leftover pork for wraps but before she did that mom and dad took me for a walk around the campground. They told me this was my last walk for the day because it was getting cold and the sun was starting to go down. We walked about a half hour and when we returned to the Minnie we went inside for the rest of the night.

Thursday October 6, 2011

This morning we woke up at 7;45. We slept in because it was cold. The temperature outside was 30 degrees. Mom and dad didn't get out of bed too fast today because inside of the Minnie it was 42 degrees. Dad finally got out of bed and decided to start the heater. Mom got up shortly after dad and they both got dressed. Afterwards mom fed me my breakfast and then sat down with dad for breakfast. After breakfast mom straighten up the Minnie and then we all went for a walk. Our walk wasn't far because I really didn't feel like going for a walk. When we got back to our site dad put my chair on the picnic table so people will know that the site was occupied. Today we're going to
Cadillac Mountain and Jordon Pond. It's very windy and cold but we're going to do some site seeing and hiking. I really mean mom and dad are going site seeing and hiking while I stay in the Minnie and keep warm. I'm allowed on the hiking trails here at Acadia National Park but there are so many people here mom and dad thought I should stay in the Minnie. When we got to Cadillac Mountain the views were gorgeous and it was very windy and cold. Mom took pictures but a lot of the pictures didn't come out because she was cold and it was hard for her to keep the camera still. They walked the .3 mile trail and they told me the views were fantastic. The next stop was at Jordon Pond. Mom and dad wanted to hike the Carriage Roads and some of them are at Jordon Pond. Mom and dad were only going to hike a mile of the trails but mom wanted to see some bridges so they ended up hiking about 4 miles. There are 45 miles of carriage roads in Acadia National Park were a gift from John D. Rockefeller Jr. He helped build the roads and bridges. The roads are 16 feet wide and were built because Mr. Rockefeller wanted to travel on motor-free roads by horse and carriage. As mom and dad was walking the carriage roads they saw a couple of people riding horses and they saw two horse and carriages. They didn't see a lot of people until they got to the carriages. They saw four bridges and each one was a little different. The roads and bridges were built between 1913 to 1940. Some of the carriage roads are private roads so you can't ride your bikes and the carriages can't go down them but you can hike them. They stopped and took pictures of gorgeous scenery of lakes and trees. The roads were very nice and well maintained. The guardrails were made of large blocks of granite. There are signs through out the roads so you will know where to go. When they returned to the Minnie I was very excited to see them. Mom took me for a short walk while dad rested. When we got back mom made sandwiches for dad and her lunch. She gave me some gizzards for a snack. After lunch we went back to the campground. We stopped on the way there at the showers so mom and dad could take a shower. After they finished we went back to our site. We stayed inside for awhile because it was still cold. After we rested mom and dad took me for a walk to the ocean. We sat there for a little while enjoying the sun and then we went back to the Minnie. When we got back we stopped by our neighbors to visit. Our neighbors were from Holland. We visit with them until we got cold and then we went back inside the Minnie. About 5:00 mom and dad took me for my last walk of the day. We walked around the A Loop for about a half hour and then we went back to our site. Once back in the Minnie mom heated up some stew for dad and her dinner. She fed me my food. After dinner we stayed inside and called it a night.

Friday October 7, 2011

We woke up at 7:30 and the temperature was 30 degrees. Mom would get out of bed until dad turned on the heater. We haven't had power in a long time and
in Acadia National Park you can run your generator between 8:00 am to 7:00 pm. We're very thankful that our heater runs on propane. Dad doesn't run the heater too long he only runs it long enough to get the chill out of the air. After mom got out of bed we all had breakfast. When breakfast was over mom and dad took me for a walk around the B Loop. Once we were back mom and dad straighten up the Minnie because we're leaving Acadia today. We left Acadia about 8:00 we going to stay in Maine one more day and then we'll go to Massachusetts. Tonight we'll be staying at a Wal-Mart. We stopped at a few place before we called it a night. The first stop was a bridge in Searsport, Maine. The drive to the bridge was a very nice drive down a curvy country road. The road went by a few lakes, campgrounds and farms. The scenery was very beautiful. The bridge was hugh mom had to take two different pictures to get it all. They had both the old bridge and the new one. So no matter what mom did the old bridge was in the picture. After taking pictures we stopped at a  McDonald's for lunch and for mom and dad to check our e-mail and update my website. While at McDonald's mom and dad found a laundromat so we could do some clothes. When the laundry was done we went to a U-Haul to get propane in the Minnie. After getting propane we decided to go to L.L. Bean in Freeport, Maine. L.L. Bean had a big outlet store in Freeport and is open 24 hours every day of the year. When we arrived at Freeport we had to find where to park the Minnie. Once we parked the Minnie mom and dad went to L.L. Bean. L.L. Bean broke down their hugh store into smaller stores that were open 8:00 am to 9:00 pm. Either mom or dad are shoppers so they weren't impress because it was like a big outlet mail. In front of the big store there was a hugh boot of course dad had to take a picture of mom. Mom and dad walked through the store and didn't buy anything. They went inside looking for hiking boots for dad but didn't see any that he liked. They were both surprise that the selection was very small.  After looking at the boots they went downstairs, where the dog beds were. They looked at the beds and found the one I use to have but decided not to buy one. The dog beds are expensive but they are worth the money because they last a long time. When they got back to me mom took me for a walk. When we returned we found a Wal-Mart, which was in Falmouth, Maine. When we got to Wal-Mart mom and dad went inside to pick up a few things. This Wal-Mart wasn't a Super Wal-Mart so they got what they could. After mom put the items away mom and dad took me for a walk around the parking lot. As we were walking we saw a park so we walked around it. The park was very nice it had a few soccer fields and it had a cool skate rink, where you can play hockey on line skates. After walking around the park we walked to another parking area, where there was an outdoor pond that they freeze up in the winter for ice skating. There also was an indoor ice skating rink. While we were walking around we peeked in the door and saw that there was a hockey game going on. The spectators were watching the game behind a glass in area upstairs. We thought that the facilities were fantastic. When we got back mom fed me my dinner and then dad and her went to Wendy's for dinner. When they returned we called it a night.

Saturday October 8, 2011

I woke mom and dad up at 4:00 because I was making a lot of noise grooming and dad told me to stop. I did and we all went back to sleep. The next time we woke up at was 6:30. Dad crawled out of bed the temperature was 15 degrees warmer inside and outside. The outside temperature was 47 degrees instead of 32 degrees. Mom slowly got out of bed 10 minutes later. Mom fed me my breakfast and then sat down with for a little breakfast. After breakfast mom and dad took me for a little walk around the parking lot. As we were walking we saw a
bagel store so dad went inside to buy a few of them for our trip on the road to Massachusetts. We drove the toll road through Maine and New Hampshire, which cost us $11.50. Dad didn't feel that this was too bad. While on the toll we went over the Piscataqua River on a cool old bridge and once on the other side of the river we were out of Maine and in New Hampshire. Don't ask me how to pronounce the name of the river because I don't know. We drove through a little part of New Hampshire into Massachusetts. As we were drive we were a little disappointed that we had seen any Fall colors yet. Maybe it's still too early. The drive was still pretty we saw a lot of trees. As we were driving through Whitinsville there was a lot of things going on. There was a Fall Festival going on at the Elementary school and football going on at the Middle school. We were looking for a Wal-Mart to stay for the night. Our GPS directed to where the Wal-Mart use to be but it had moved. We went around in circles for awhile. As we were driving around in circles we saw a very nice lake with a few white swans and gray swans on it. There were also a couple of small fishing boat on the lake. Dad was tired of going around in circles so he parked the Minnie in a parking lot right across the street from a McDonald's so he could log onto the internet to get directions. Dad found out that we were very close to it we were only a couple miles away. We got to Wal-Mart at 1:00 this was pretty early but we were glad to be there. Dad drove around to make sure there were no signs that said we couldn't stay overnight in the parking lot. There are some Wal-Marts in Massachusetts, where you can't stay overnight in. Once dad parked the Minnie mom and dad went inside to do some shopping. When they got back mom took me for a walk around the parking lot. I think I'm going to like it here because there was a big grassy area for me to walk in. We didn't do anything the rest of the day because there was nothing mom and dad wanted to see. This was ok with me because I could sleep all day. It was pretty warm so we had to crack the windows but once the sun went down it cooled off nicely. Good-bye, I'll talk to you tomorrow.

Sunday October 9, 2011

Dad woke up at 6:00, he couldn't sleep so he got up. Mom stayed in bed until 6:30 because we weren't in any hurry today because we aren't going too far. We didn't want to get to our next adventure too early. Mom fed me my breakfast and then she had breakfast with dad. After breakfast mom and dad took me for walk around the parking lot. As we were walking we saw a couple of boys playing in the grass field. It looked like they were going to have a game of football but the team was just meeting at Wal-Mart and then going to where they were going to have the actual game. We thought this was weird because it's Sunday morning and usually not too many kids are up at 7:00. Mom took me back to the Minnie and dad went inside Wal-Mart to get a couple of things. While we were waiting for dad mom straightened up the Minnie. After dad got back to the Minnie we left to go to Rhode Island. We arrived in Rhode Island about 8:30 so we drove along the coastline. This was a very nice because we stopped a few places to look at the Rhode Island State beaches. The first stop was at Point Judith Lighthouse. Mom and dad left me in the Minnie because I wasn't allowed on the beach. You weren't allowed to get too close to the lighthouse so mom had to take pictures from a park next to it. The park was a very nice park mom and dad walked around it. They saw a few boats on the ocean and the park was getting busy with people walking on the beach, riding their bikes and fishing. As they were walking a dog came up to them to say hi. I wish I was there. After about 15 minutes mom and dad returned to me. The next stop was Roger W. Wheeler State Beach. It had a hugh parking lot and in the summertime you have to pay to park but the booth was closes so we didn't have to pay. It was a nice facility. It had bathhouses, playscape and the beach. Once again I was left in the Minnie. As mom and dad were walking they a mom and her children playing on the playscape and they also saw a couple of labs swimming in the ocean. I guess they really don't enforce the law about no dogs on the beach. Mom and dad really didn't want me to go swimming in the ocean anyways. After walking the beach we continued our adventure of the beaches. Dad drove around Point Judith area. This area had shops and ferries taking people back and forth across the bay. After driving around we went to another state beach. Mom and dad got out and walked around the area. When they got back they took me for a walk. There was a big grassy field right next to the parking lot that we walked around. As we were walking around we saw people jogging and sunbathing on the beach. We also saw people walking their dogs on the beach. We were surprise that there were so many people up this early in the morning. After walking around for a little while we decided to continue driving the coastline. The beaches in Rhode Island were very nice. We drove the coastline until about 10:00 and then we went looking for a car wash. The Minnie needed to be vacuumed out and wash. We found one but we only vacuumed the Minnie. Afterwards we decided to go to the state park. The first one we went to was full so they recommended Burlingame. Burlingame State Park was only 11 miles away so we decided to go there. The drive to Burlingame was freeway so it wasn't too interesting. When we arrived there there was a sign that said they were full. Dad went into the office to see if the sign was right. The lady said they had eight sites available and she forgot to change the sign. Dad paid for a site and then we went to the site. The road to the campground was very nice but the actual campground road was very rough. Burlingame State Park is hugh it has 800 site but most of it was closed for the season. The sites are very deep and have a lot of trees. We had to wait for a few minutes because our site was occupied. The group was running a little late but that was ok because the site across from ours was available so we waited there. When the group left we parked the Minnie. Afterwards mom barbecued hamburgers for lunch and she gave me a little gizzard for a snack. After lunch we sat in our chairs and relaxed. We didn't do too much today because dad had a hurt toe and he couldn't do much walking. Mom did take me for a couple of walks around the campground. Maybe tomorrow dad's toe will be better and we could go for longer walks.

Today I let mom and dad sleep in until 7:45, this was the latest they had slept all trip. The sun was shining and I was ready to do something. First, I had to be patient with mom because she always takes her time getting out of bed. It wasn't even cold in the Minnie, it was a comfortable 62 degrees. Mom finally rolled out of bed and got dressed. She fed me my breakfast and then sat down and had breakfast with dad. Dad's toe was still sore today but he sucked it up and took me for a walk. Of course mom went with us. The walk was an hour and half walk around the campground down to Watchaug Pond. As we walked we went through the tent area by the store and through the day area. We also walked by some of the cabins. The cabins were very nice looking and most of them were being used. The cabins looked over the pond. Watchaug Pond was big it was more of a lake than a pond. While at the pond we saw a couple of boys kayaking and their dad watching them. On the other side of the pond we saw a few homes and someone was water skiing. It was a very nice pond. Most of the area we walked by we closed for the season but when we got to the campsites by the pond it was busy. We were glad we were where we were because there were too many people and dogs. When we were walking back to the Minnie I met a 2 years old poodle and she wanted to play with me. We were both on leash and it was too hard to play but we checked each other out and hopped around a little. She was camping with her mom and her mom trying to train her how to camp because they were planning to camp full-time. That sound like fun. Oh, wait a minute I've been on the road camping for five weeks already and I'm having a great time. After our visit we went back to the Minnie and relaxed in our chairs, while dad nursed his toe. About 10:30 we walked up to the office so we could pay for another night. While we were there we met a lady from Texas and her brother and sister in-law. The lady from Texas said she needed a dog fix so she played with me. Of course I couldn't let the other two people not play with me. While we were visiting a little boy wanted to pet me but I was busy eating grass and hiding in the bushes. When mom told the boy I was hiding in the brushes he decided he wanted to do the same. After mom and dad stopped visiting we went back to the Minnie. As we were going back we passed by the dump station and there was a line of RVs and we were glad we were leaving tomorrow because there wouldn't be a line. We spent the whole day in our chairs relaxing. Dad barbecued some pork and heated up some baked beans for lunch and mom gave me a chicken bone. After lunch we stayed outside because it was too pretty to be inside. About 4:00 mom and dad took me for another walk around the campground we walked through part of the campground that was closed we didn't as long as we did this morning because I was tired. We were almost back to our site when we met a couple and their dog. They asked if we saw any deer and we said no. The dog was a beautiful Husky and very friendly so we said hello. His mom said he jumps so they didn't visit too long. When we got back we sat in our chairs until the mosquitoes got to bad and then we went inside. Mom heated up leftovers for dinner and she fed me my food. After dinner mom took me for a short walk and then we called it a night.

We woke up at 6:30 and mom got out of bed earlier than normal. Mom and dad straighten up the Minnie and put things away because today we're going to go visit a friend (Karen Fisher) in Connecticut. She wants us to stay with her because she hasn't seen mom and dad in 7 years and she wanted to meet me. I'm excited because I'm going to a new state and meeting someone new. After mom and dad finished straightening up mom fed me my breakfast and then sat down with dad to have breakfast. When we finished our breakfast we all went for a walk around the campground. When we got back to the campsite dad started up the Minnie to warm it up and then we left. Dad told Karen that we would be at her home in the afternoon so we did a little site seeing. We were going to drive near Yale University so we decided to go see it. Dad tried to find a parking space for the Minnie but he couldn't so we ended up just driving by it. There were plenty of parking for cars but none of the spaces were big enough for the Minnie. Dad usually can park in a car space but the roads were pretty narrow and busy so he didn't want to take any chances on damaging the Minnie. As we drove by we saw some old beautiful buildings. There was another place mom and dad wanted to see but we couldn't find it so the trip to see Karen was mainly interstate and we didn't stop any where. We arrived in Stamford about 11:00 and decided to find a McDonald's parking lot to sit in for awhile until about 3:00. We found one it was downtown and there wasn't any parking so we went to a Staples' store. Before we went to Staples we stopped at a Burger King so mom and dad could have lunch. After lunch we went to Staples. While in the Staples' parking lot dad connected to the internet to get some information on New Jersey and what to do while we're in Connecticut. When 3:00 came around we went to see Karen. Karen was happy to see us and she paid a lit of attention to me. Karen has a gorgeous home and a lot of trees in her yard. While we were there mom and dad visit with Karen. Karen took mom and dad out to dinner at a Jewish Deli and they had a great time. Before they left mom fed me my food and left me in the Minnie while they were gone. I didn't mine because I can protect the Minnie and sleep. When they got back from dinner we all went in the house and visit. About 9:00 we all went to bed. We didn't sleep in the Minnie we slept in the guest room. I slept at the bottom of the bed in my bed.

We woke up about 6:30. Mom and dad took a shower and then we went back to the Minnie to have breakfast. After breakfast we went for a walk around Karen's neighborhood to kill a little of time because we didn't want to disturb Karen. When we got back Karen was awake so we visit with her for a couple more hours before we said our good-byes and thanked her for hospitality. We left Karen's house about 10:00 and headed to The Maritime Aquarium. It was located in Norwalk, which wasn't too far from Karen's. Dad wasn't sure if we were going to find any place to park but we did. Dad parked the Minnie and then they said good-bye to me but  before they left they had to put some money in a parking meter. They paid for 2 hours but they knew they were going to be gone longer but the meter only went up to 2 hours. They walked around the aquarium and went to one of the two movies before they came back to feed the meter for another hour. The first movie was Coral Reef. It was about how we can save the coral reef from going away. They liked it very much because they're divers and it showed a lot of beautiful coral reefs. The second movie was Gone Wild. This was about saving elephants and orangutans. The movie was about an orphanage for elephants, where their mother was killed by poachers and an orphanage for orangutans, where theirs mothers died. Mom and dad learned how long the orphanages keep the animals before they release them in the wild. When mom and dad came back to me they took me for a walk. When we returned mom gave me pork for a treat and made pepperoni sandwiches for dad and her. After lunch we drove around to find a place to stay for the night. We found a Super Wal-Mart and parked the Minnie for the night. Today was another relaxing day.

Thursday October 13, 2011

Today we woke up about 4:45 because we wanted to get an early start. We wanted to avoid some of the traffic going to New Jersey. We had a little breakfast and then went for a walk around the parking lot. Once we were back we started the Minnie so we could start our adventure to New Jersey. As we drove down the highway we took the Tappan Zee Bridge that went from Connecticut to New York. The bridge was gorgeous but mom couldn't take a picture of it because it was still dark. As we drove over the bridge it bounced because it went over a big river. Once across the river we were back in New York, where we took a toll road to New Jersey. Once we were in New Jersey we got on the Garden Toll Road. I slept all the way to a State Forest Campground named Wharton. We drove around and we decided we really didn't like it. It had rained last night, the campground had a lot of sand and the roads we dirt. So we went to the office and asked if Parvin State Park was open. The lady in the office was very nice and said yes. She called Parvin to see if there were any opens and there were. We drive to Parvin State Park, where was 35 miles from Wharton. The park was fantastic!!! The roads were paved and they let you have dogs in some of the sites. In New Jersey some of the state parks don't allowed dogs. Before we left home dad found out which parks allowed dogs and which ones didn't. After driving around we asked a man, where we go to pay for a site. He told us and we drove to the office. The office was located in a big building that was built by the CCC. Dad was surprised when he went to register that the lady brought out a big ledger and told him that the park wasn't computerized so she had to write everything down in the ledger. They had a computer but all their camping records were in the ledger. Once we register we went to our campsite and set up camp for two nights. When mom and dad finished we went for a walk around the campground to get familiar with our surroundings. Once we did that we returned to the Minnie and barbecued hamburgers for lunch. Mom gave me a little snack. After lunch we went on a 1 1/2 mile hike. The hike trail was very nice. The trail was very soft to walk on and went through trees. We didn't go too far because dad was still nursing his toe still and I was tired. The rest of the day we stayed inside and relaxed. We didn't sit outside because there was a lot of mosquitoes. When dinnertime came around mom heated up leftover sausages and fed me my food. After dinner we went for a walk around the campground and then we called it a night.

Friday October 14, 2011

Today dad got up at 6:15 because he couldn't sleep any longer. I was awake up I waited for mom to get up so she could feed me my breakfast. Mom finally got up at 6:45. Mom fed me my breakfast and then sat down with dad for breakfast. After breakfast we went on a three mile hike around the lake. The hike was very nice but humid. We hiked through trees and by the main road to the park. We hiked to the group sites, picnic area and the main office. As we were hiking we saw a couple of guys walking and a couple of guys riding bikes. I did some exploring. Mom took pictures as we hiked. We hiked over a few bridges and by the dam. The hike was very interesting because we found out that the buildings and the park were built by the CCC. The state of New Jersey owned the land and then had the CCC help develop it. By the time we got back to our campsite I was exhausted. We went inside to relax. After awhile dad wiped down the Minnie because she was filthy and mom stayed inside because of the mosquitoes. While he was wiping down the Minnie a couple of prison buses came into the campground with a few prisoners do a little work around the park. They weren't here too long. After dad finished wiping down the Minnie he came inside. When lunchtime came around mom heated up some pork and made pitas for lunch. Mom gave me a little pork for a snack. After lunch mom and dad went to take a shower. When they returned we went for a walk around the campground. After our walk we stayed inside and relaxed. Mom worked on her Sudoku, dad read a book and I slept. Before dinner we went on a walk around the campground. When we got back mom fixed soup for dinner. After dinner mom and dad went for a little walk around the campground they left me at home because I was too tired to move. When they returned we called it a night.
